For Indoor Sowing
When:
March to April, or all year round for pots indoors.
Where:
In pots or trays of moist compost. Partial Shade.
How:
Sow thinly, cover lightly with compost. Firm gently
Cover with clear glass, polythene or propagator lid
Keep at 15 - 20°C (60 - 68°F) and keep moist.
Care:
Remove cover when seedlings appear
Thin plants to further pots or trays if necessary to grow outdoors, stand outside for a few days late May (aviod frosts) Then transplant 20cm (8in) apart in final position to grow indoors, transplant to 15cm (6in) pots of compost, place in a light airy location
For Outdoor Sowing

How:
Sow thinly and cover lightly with fine soil
Care:
When large enough thin as necessary, spacing 20cm (8in) apart.
Harvest:
Pick leaves as required (outdoor plants from June onwards), indoor plants all year round.
Tip: Pick seed heads when light brown, after drying shake out the seeds and store in an airtight container.
