Now What?

You’ll never be short of things to do with Herbs and luckily the internet is a great place to find them,
I will be adding things here every time I find them but for now how about a Cuppa?

Herbs are great for making teas, as well as being different from PG tips (I’m not going to lie to you and say that they taste better though) but also a lot better for you, here are four different herb teas you can make with just herbs from the comfort of your own home (and garden).

Chamomile Tisane
Made from the flowers, this is lovely last thing at night for a good nights sleep.

Dill Seed Tisane
Is great for relief from griping pains

Peppermint Leaf Tisane
To drink after a meal as its great for helping Digestion (Perhaps the antidote to Chives).

Lemon Balm Tisane
Is made from the leafs and is a Mild anti-depressant and also relieves tiredness, headaches and apparently restores the memory.

All you need to do is take five fresh leaves or a spring, place them on a piece of kitchen towel, lightly crush, and then add to a cup or teapot.
Pour over the boiled water that has been cooled to just below boiling point and cover.
Covering is important as this stops the essential oils escaping though evaporation. Leave to brew for five minutes, strain if necessary into a cup and enjoy.
Not really any need for milk or sugar but if you feel you wish to have some sort of sweetener that I suggest honey.

Herb Butter

Butter in which finely-chopped herbs have been incorporated. The herbs should have a strong flavour - examples include garlic, thyme, chives, rosemary and sage. Mix about a table-spoon of herbs to ¼Ib of softened butter - beat until they are evenly mixed. Let the herb butter stand for a day or more before serving and then put into a mould or place in the refrigerator before cutting into cubes. Cream cheese can be flavoured in the same way.
